Of all the versions of the "Essex Boys" story, I'm keenest on Bonded By Blood (2010, Sacha Bennett) mainly for Neil Maskell. See also St Georges Day

I hated St George's Day. I watched it as i was on a roll a couple of years ago following We Still Kill the Old Way and Vendetta.

Suffice to say the brakes screeched and the roll was over.

It's not great by any means. But again was purely enlivened for me by Maskell. From Nathan Barley to Kill List and beyond he is always worth watching imo.

Modern British crime films are an odd beast to me. There's no middle ground. I either love or loathe them. None have fallen into the category of being 'okay'.

I love both Get Carter (Michael Caine ) and The Long Good Friday (Bob Hoskins)

I am so happy they never made a sequel to the latter,There was talk about making one (that ending was perfection ) but thankfully they all saw sense.

Pool Attendant: To keep it all incognito. They're gonna collect the body in an ice cream van.

Harold: There's a lot of dignity in that, isn't there? Going out like a raspberry ripple.
