That's one of my favourite things about it too! Although my bloody boyfriends gone and borrowed Torso and Venus In Furs to take to a mate's house for the weekend so my shelf looks all messed up now...

I don't think it said it on the sleeve but the SOUND was remastered, what did you make of that?

Loved the movie, though it's one of these tough flicks, which is way too ambitious for a simple "exploitation fix", yet still much too graphic to watch it with the missus.

They most certainly don't make such daring films any more.....

Flavia is presented in 1:85 widesceen but not anamorphic the comparison with the universal horror doesn't hold water because they were never shot in widescreen in the first place,if you adjust the ratio manually on your television you'll lose resolution that's why it is important to have the film in the anamorphic format

The outcome is... it's not anamorphic!

Look it's pitiful stuff really. After New York Ripper we decided to try and make everything anamorphic. All materials were checked and non anamorphic masters like The Frightened Woman (which Marc Morris has done a beautiful job on) were singled out for future conversion.

In the whole paper trail having gone through it all there's no mention of Flavia - oh we had the sound track worked on and puzzled over but the non-anamorphic master slipped through. Now in a company with staff and nothing but those DVDs to do that would not have happened. As we're doing this on top of day jobs I'm sorry to say we slipped up and it's frankly crap but there it is!

As such we're probably going to slow things down as a result so we can get enough checks in place and hopefully get more people involved in the Shameless process as it really pisses us off to miss stuff like this and our apologies go to anyone disappointed.

So... let's start the flaying!

Not for the immediate future. I can't actually give you an answer on that one. The problem there is we then need to create a new master to work from, then get it re-authored and make a glass master etc - all very expensive which is what makes such a mistake rather fatal and hideous to say the least.

We're looking at the download to burn to DVD model and maybe there eventually there may be a solution.
