I got one of the 'Game Disc Cleaners' outta a local games store for the reduced price of 4.99. ( The one were you put the disc in and turn the handle. )

I was all set for a planned online MADDEN 09 tournament and desided to give the disc a quick clean. I then put the clean disc in my PS3 and couldn't get it to regester that it was ready to play so I took it out and a hairline crack from the centre hole of the disc down to half way down the disc had appeared courtesy of my 'bargain' disc cleaner, and thats the game we use in a weekly online NFL league I belong to.

Luckly my missus picked me up another MADDEN 09 quite cheap in a CEX that has opened in the shopping Mall we use.

If anybody else has this type of cleaner please be careful when using it.

It turned out one of the many tiny prongs to hold the disc in place had snapped and the disc was then off centre.

One of those cleaners almost ruined my Deadly Spawn disc.

The ' Big Ben ' is a sweet alternative to the DS 3 .
Its heavier due to 2 AA bateries, and slightly larger than the DS3, but its the better for it, especially if you find the official pad a tad small or lite .
It uses a small dongle for frequency as its not blue tooth , but the dongle is stylish and provides excellent connection with no problem whatever .
I use it as my pad of choice and you can get it from any ARGOS Store for 12 quid 50p if bought with any other item , or £24.99 when purchased solo.

8/10 - Style
10/10 - Comfort
9/10 - Useability

Though Noss's link for DS3's is a good offer as well.

the beauty of the DS3 is that it charges through the PS3, it's weighted correctly (as opposed to the SixAxis, which was top heavy), it's bluetooth (none of that 2.4ghz dongle, filling up a USB slot crap) and that it works with a PC.

I haven't found a DS3 third party clone I've liked yet.

The 'Big Ben's good value at halfprice Noss.
The buttons are not cheap and the sticks are equal to the DS3. The batteries are in the sane place as the 360 pad and the triggers are imho better than DS3 ones.
Connection is good and i've 4 usb ports doing bugger all so the dongle dosent bother me.

Good for a 2nd pad at that price, but I use it as my 1st choice, funny enough I use a 3rd party JoyTec Neo as my 1st choice with my 360.
I must be an oddball or summit. LOL

What do you or anyone for that matter think of those connect to the controller, Pad Text Keyboard (?) mini add on for PS3 or 360.?
Anyhow, recon they're worth 25 quid as the TV text that comes as standard is killing me. Its to slow.

A soon to be pricedrop for PS3 & X360, and a new slimline PS3 .

MS is to do away with its Premium console and pricedrop the Elite to the Premium's current RRP.
MS will keep the Arcade model as a cheap entry level option to HD gaming and also as a cheap replacement should your old 3 year plus machine 'die'.
Sony's not released a new RRP yet but it should'nt be long till it does , ( 4th Qtr. ? ) but a pricedrop is definate.

Apparently Forbidden Planet are phasing out , or trimming down their games dept, at least in Belfast anyway , as they are no longer taking in trade in's, plus the games on the shelves all had 'Reduced' stickers on them.

HMV have some good offers in store at the moment as well. My mate picked me up a new, sealed copy of NHL 2K09 for £10 , plus he got 2 good titles for £25 out of they're 'Re-Play range. (2nd hand) , and noticed some new titles added to they're 2 for £30 selection .

Argos to have added new titles to the already good selection of titles for PS3 , 360, in their 2 x £30 range.

I have to get a new 2nd controller for my 360 , so that'll give me a good excuse to nip into town tomorrow and hopefully pick up a few bargain's .
You never know, I might even buy one of those text add on devices that make typing with a joypad alot easier and quicker. lol
