The past few days im having trouble playing videos on my laptop its like they are playing in slow motion. Any idea what i can do to fix this. I have done scans but no virus im stumped.

If it's a dvd vlc should have no trouble, same if it's on the HDD, at a guess check 'available ram' to see if you have used up ram with programs running in the background, other video players might work better, I used Media player classic for a while.

Ok so a scan now says i have rootkits that are infecting my computer. Is there any recommended programs to remove these.

Nasty, but search 'malwarebytes anti rootkit' and they have a beta that may help, download as a .zip file, but as it's a beta, backup valuable files etc. first.
Hope it does the job.

Just an update i used TDSS Killer and it cleared everything up looks like normal service can resume. Thankfully

Anyone here using the operating systems Chrome or Chromium?

I'm thinking about trying out the free Chromium (usb stick for now) so any tips or experiences would be interesting.

Curious about what build I should try as I'm on an older pc,ATI graphics.
