No i've had a look in Poundland twice so far, the last time on Friday. They don't have the horror stand like usual. I hope they don't miss out this year.

nosferatu42 25th September 2016 05:48 PM

My Poundland should be re named Pantsland as far as dvd's are concerned, the highlight was about 3 or four years ago when they had a stand with Demons 1& 2 and some Argento stuff, since then it'a mostly unwatchable stuff. I don't even think they have a Halloween dvd stand anymore.
Pity.

Sam 25th September 2016 05:55 PM

City centre Poundland stores seem to have richer pickings this year (so far) when it comes to Halloween DVDs. I found Digging up the Marrow and The Divide in the Manchester store. They had a fair few other horror blus and DVDs, which I either already had or have no interest in...

Marrow is a bargain for a £1. Very nice find!

Susan Foreman 25th September 2016 07:53 PM

Looking at the 'Bargains In Poundland' thread, last year it was the 2nd October when they had their Halloween stand out

My purchases over the past couple of weeks... £28 for the lot, which is pretty good value in my book!

That'll be my lot for a good while now, unless some more decent stuff turns up in Poundland...

Was put off buying Marrow because its just DVD format over here and US blu is locked. Does it have extras at all? If it does then I'll think I'll grab it begrudgingly!

Would you let me know what that Strange Days BD looks like when you've watched it? I'm starting to think it's not going to come out ever in the UK at this point.

I've had a couple of items delivered this week, however this is one of those odd times where i have absolutely nothing ordered, pre-ordered or orders in the post.

Aah, thank you. It's not a problem though. It's good.

Very early Xmas presents, D, still almost a quarter of the year to go.

Having said that i've already got the bulk of what i'm giving to people. :glitter:

Hurray(ish) Poundland had it's Halloween movie stand up, but these were the only three I fancied, there was a Brit horror with James Nesbitt, seemed to be a demon/beast on the loose kinda deal but looked a bit... meh, worth a look tho most are DVD, PA2 and a couple of others on BD.

It's about a werewolf on a Glasgow housing estate. Fairly grimy at times.

Finally arrived. :)

Reverse has original poster artwork and is thankfully without the bs about Ring etc.

fuzzymctiger 30th September 2016 07:42 AM

Took advantage of the Arrow sale to grab what I missed in the last two sales because I was poor :/

Frivolous Lola
The Honeymoon Killers
Requiescant
Wake Up And Kill
Nikkatsu Diamond Guys vol. 1
Sheba Baby
Five Dolls for an August Moon
Hired to Kill
The Zero Boys
Waking Life
Black Mama White Mama

Also picked up Female Prisoner Scorpion finally to take advantage of the double points (Don't trust Zavvi with a boxset and Amazon's price can get stuffed. Such an expensive set)

And Dekalog from Amazon, bc even with the double points given back Amazon worked out cheaper. Very excited for this one.

Will use the points for either The Guyver and Driller Killer, or just save them for a later big boxset

Justin101 30th September 2016 10:34 AM

I got Stray Cat Rock from Arrow sale and an Iron Maiden ticket!

I also got Hex, from Amazon, I have tried watching it twice but it's difficult to get in to, it's been dubbed into Cantonese so the lips don't match the speech and the subtitles are mistimed too. It's unfortunate as it seems like a good film if you can get past all of that.
