Two today. Both UK dvds.

The Vital Spark (this being the remnants of what was filmed, see it's not just the Doctor who got "lost":rolleyes::rolleyes:)
Ahem.

Scooby Doo & The Loch Ness Monster

Yes, I will buy anything with Nessie in it :loveeyes::laugh:

£2 all in. Both in excellent condition.

Noticed Casey Kasem was in it, so grabbed it. :pop2:

Hellraiser 2022 UK dvd and Scream 2 4K UHD/blu-ray set arrived. Would have been happy with a remastered 1080p copy of Scream 2 but I'd given up waiting for one to turn up. Plus it was a good price.

There's a current £5 off £15 offer on Amazon and I had a free prime trial for an eligible account. Link to offer: https://www.amazon.co.uk/b?node=2277...g=bluraycom-21

Offer meant that I was charged £9.50 for the 4K UHD and £4 for the dvd, I'm happy with that. btw Hellraiser 2022 looks pretty good for a dvd, pleased to have a physical copy for my collection.

This is unusual, inside the Amazon packaging box was another box, it seems from Arrows warehouse with the box set inside that one, with bubble wrap!

I’m guessing the Bruce Lee box set might have something to do with it.

A couple from Amazon. Has anyone seen this Gwar documentary? It’s really good! I watched it on Shudder last year.

A UK blu-ray of Tobe Hooper's The Funhouse arrived. Whilst I do like the film, I'm not a rabid fan so I was happy just paying a tenner in an Arrow sale. Bit of a result that Arrow re-issued it at the end of September. Had a sneak peek and considering that it's an older Arrow title, the PQ looks good. Should be a fun film to revisit. :)

The first 2 pics are all from Missing Records in Glasgow. Saw on Facebook that all their dvds and blu rays were half price so thought I'd go in and have a look. Got the Once Upon A Time In America soundtrack for 2 quid and thought it felt a bit heavy and found the Very Best of Ennio Morriconne CD under the disc. All in the Missing stuff came to £25. The ones out of cex didn't cost me anything cos I had a voucher left from my birthday. And I thought I'd just get Clerks 3 seeing as how it was only 8 quid. And I got the region 1 DVD of The Terminator cos the gunshots sound shit on the 5.1 track on the UK disc. HMV on Argyle St is very disappointing now. Their film section isn't as big as it used to be.

I bought 4 dvds from Music Magpie for 8 quid. They are: Cable Guy 1996. I like this Jim Carrey film. The title character is deranged. Trading Places 1983. This was a video shop favourite back in the day. I think it's funny. Absolute Power 1997. Clint Eastwood abseiling down a mansion wasn't overly convincing but still enjoyable. Romancing the Stone 1984. Another video shop favourite with Mike Douglas, Kathy Turner and Danny Devito. All good fun.

Picked up The Sorrow & The Pity. UK 2dvd, 50p!

SymbioticFunction 8th November 2023 11:22 AM

Spent fifteen pounds on a second hand UK blu-ray of Amer and a new UK dvd of The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears. Both arrived today, am going to put them both in a two disc blu-ray case with Tears as a bonus disc for Amer (btw Tears does look quite good considering it's only a dvd).

A Cex credit purchase. It was quite expensive at £8 but it's one i 100% want to watch over Christmas so although it's only a couple of pounds cheaper than Amazon's price at least i'm not paying money for it. Plus it has a slip as well.

Demoncrat 9th November 2023 05:21 PM

Picked up a 2dvd set of L.A. Confidential (UK). £1. Immaculate.

One of the best films of the nineties imo. With some very stiff competition.

Demoncrat 9th November 2023 07:24 PM

It has the tv pilot on the second disc, which I do not remember ahem.

A tv pilot? That's news to me.

The dvd i had was a snapper case version. Quite nice actually, the way it folded out.

I was never against those snapper cases like some were.

Demoncrat 10th November 2023 07:24 AM

I'll keep you posted then.
Like everything else, if you look after things, they do their job ahem (cases)

A couple from the Air Ambulance shop. Escape Plan is a solid enough actioner that i'm happy to upgrade for a quid, especially with it's lenticular slipcase, whilst Revolutionary Road is a blind buy. Good cast though.

Indian jones boxset as a stocking filler for the wife at Xmas, there was 2 one was a slim case with all 4 films in and then this thicker one with all 4 and extra disc with extras etc, this was £8 the other was £11 so no brainer which one to get,
And suture I’ve never heard of but it’s an arrow disc for £3 so I thought why not.

A couple more from the local Air Ambulance shop. £1 each. Outlander has a nice lenticular slip case.

I was told they've had a box of discs delivered today which they'll put out tomorrow so i'll see what they have. Probably all dvds but you never know.

Demoncrat 15th November 2023 06:35 PM

Picked up a sealed UK dvd of Halloween At Aunt Ethel's.
From the blurb on the back, I'm hoping tis a reimagining of the schlockfest Crazy Fat Ethel :laugh:
Which would be nice.

£1.

Notable only for every female cast member (aside from old Aunt Ethel, thankfully) getting their kit off and a single scene where Ethel removes a guys cock then proceeds to slap him around the face with it.
