Wanted to pre-order the UK release of Walter Hill's THE LONG RIDERS too but only some sites have it available whereas most don't and bluray.com say its unavailable for order too so I figure I'll hang fire for a bit.

Two E-mails from HMV one confirming the dispatch of the steelbook of ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (after day of release) another confirming the dispatch of RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (very much before day of release).

Yeah, mine was sent at the crack of dawn this morning. I had a feeling they would ship earlier than usual, as they have the release date down for the Saturday.

With regards to Eureka, I don't believe they ship their stock out to retailers early enough for them to ship in time for release. Eureka seem to get it to their customers early though, which is why I usually order direct from them.

I may have to start using them, I use HMV and occasionally Zaavi these days for uk releases mainly for the cashback I get through topcashback.

I preordered mine from Zavvi weeks (if not months) ago for £10.95 and was sick of e-mails saying they were waiting for stock allocation, so cancelled the order this morning, placed a new order with HMV and it was dispatched about an hour later. If speedy delivery costs an extra 5p, I'll pay it 99% of the time.

Same here and, in my case, it was only about an hour after I placed the order. Their online service – at least shipping speed – can't be faulted.
