Saw this a few years back at grimm fest in Manchester and loved it so much went and paid top dollar from the H.P. Lovecraft historical society to secure a copy.

Basically its the Lovecraft story as imagined by RKO pictures. Made today but in that style. Its pretty authentic to Lovecraft, at least authentic as you can get.

(No film will ever really be 'authentic lovecraft' so thats a bit of a dumb statement from me I suppose, as old H.P hated cinema and pretty much all his best stories rely on things that are too horrifying to properly describe...)

But this is a fantastic film well worth your time and money. I also have call of cthulu from the same people done as a B&W silent from the 20's that is also excellent.
