I also thought A Black Veil for Lisa is good and a film I like.

The same goes for The Girl with All the Gifts, an atmospheric, tense, and thought-provoking sci-fi/horror with assured direction and very good performances from Gemma Arterton, Glenn Close, and Paddy Considine. I was also impressed by the young actress Sennia Nanua in this, her first feature film.

Thanks. I love all of them, some more than others, and already own. I chose to upgrade them as they were effectively about ?5 each and think they will look and sound much better upscaled to 4K with HDR and Dolby Atmos.

I agree with you about The Princess and the Frog which is, for a family film, thematically quite dark and potentially unsettling. I like it because it's a relatively rare hand drawn film, a style that is quite unusual among all the films made by computer animation.

I keep meaning to buy Toni Erdmann myself, from the clips I've seen it looks great, darkly funny black humour, in that awkward situation way.

I've never seen it but it does look good and proof that, contrary to stereotype, Germans do have a sense of humour!

when a black veil for Lisa was released I was going to get it then it turned out it was the US cut so it was 7 minutes shorter than the original Italian cut so that put me off.
