After lending out my Twin Peaks set and it subsequently disappearing, I had to buy that again because it's Twin Peaks (£22.99 for the Gold box in HMV). I also picked up:

[REC]3
Irreversible
Wrong Turn boxset 1-4 (I haven't seen any of these, but they all sound nouveau-Texas Chainsaw) only £6.99 in HMV.

keirarts 6th April 2013 10:25 PM

If I remember correctly they aren't bad films but four was pretty rubbish by all means and I think there is a fifth as well.

Just watched the first and thought it was decent, better than the Texas Chainsaw remake. I should start buying boxsets after the whole shebang is over, if ever.

Rik 7th April 2013 08:49 AM

I recently watched all 5 in order over the course of a couple of nights, they get worse with each entry but I still enjoyed them all.

darthelvis 7th April 2013 09:28 AM

Ordered Wicker man as well.

Trebor that Evilspeak was a real bargain. Full uncut version, Prism release is cut. I paid about £20 for that 2 disc version.

tele1962 7th April 2013 09:52 AM

Schindlers List Digibook is on it's way :woot:

Yes, direct from Arrow. I accidentally ordered two copies, so now have a spare.

Just saw the reverse artwork. The old UK vhs art if I'm right. Meh.

I was expecting this one.

Yes, that is the reverse artwork. I'm not too bothered though because I'm keeping the new artwork.

It could be worse........it could be as bad as the reverse of Don't Go In The House! I could warm to it. We'll see when I eventually get it.

Justin101 7th April 2013 10:46 AM

BAKA 8th April 2013 02:13 PM

My copy of Scanners arrived today, along with Army Of Shadows from the Studio Canal Collection. Strange that my copy of The Servant hasn't shipped yet (due the same day, from the same label).

I also ordered that When A Stranger Calls / Happy Birthday To Me double feature. It seemed rude not to at less than £5 delivered, even though I am still not all regions on the Blu-ray front (although I plan to be before October). I do still hope, however, that someone like Arrow picks up both titles for a features loaded release, as both these little slashers deserve much, much better.

Awesome! I take it that they're using an interesting definition of "Strong Uncut Version"? :)

They're definitely uncut! They're a part of their Scandinavian import range of titles which where either banned or heavily cut in the UK. CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, FEROX, I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE were some of the other titles they released.

Decent haul for me when I got to work today, now to find the time to watch them!!

re.form 8th April 2013 07:31 PM

Finally relented and bought the Basket Case Steely last night from zoverstocks. £18. Cheapest I've seen i for a while. At one point it was £35.

For £6 a film that's pretty good. Looking forward to the documentary as well.

Finally replaced my VHS of the first movie and the two sequels on one DVD edition.

J Harker 8th April 2013 07:50 PM

My blu copy of The Punisher arrived this morning from Sainsburies. Not seen this film in years, since the days of good ole vhs. While I realise there are better versions out there, for £6.99 I'm chuffed with this disc. Thanks to my son and what feels like endless poxy visitors today I've only managed to watch about fifteen minutes of it but the pq is excellent, at least compared to when I last watched it. And while it's not the extended uncensored cut it's still the most complete version I've ever seen.

Linbro 8th April 2013 11:06 PM

Invasion of the Body Snatchers - US BD
Wicker Man - UK steel

Arrived:

I cancelled my Hobbit pre-order after actually seeing the film - damn it's dull  There is enough story in the book to make a really good action packed 2.5hr - 3hr film, not a 9hr epic. There you go though, studio logic...

Refused 9th April 2013 10:18 AM

Ordered Ichi the Killer blu-ray, even though the PQ is meant to be less than impressive.
