I don't know either film but they both began turning up on Amazon recommendations recently, even though the releases are going back to the year 2000.

Yes I also own Cave of the Living Dead,it's a German film btw.

Here's what I wrote after watching it some time ago:

"Not as great as the delirious Metempsyco (with which it shared a US double-bill) but still an enjoyable early entry in the Euro gothic genre.
Will be watching this again sometime soon I think."

Went a bit mad in Head & cex last week and bought the following new ish horror BDs... Best thing is I only paid around £15 in the end due to trade ins...



I feel like I've neglected modern horror films, the main reason being that I can't stand CGI! out of these so far I've watched the last 4... SILENT HOUSE and THE PACT really didn't do much for me, although I thought the soundtracks on both really decent and atmospheric; the best thing about them! Oh and despite it being a bit gimmicky I appreciated the attempt to make a whole film in 1 shot in SILENT HOUSE. Despite this I think they'll be getting sold

However the 2 poltergeist films (THE POSSESSION and WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT) I thought were excellent. The latter in particular was original, had a very realistic 70s setting, good performances and plenty of creepy moments.

I caved so hard on the Friday The 13th set. Despite the issues, the transfers are all at least great, it's a gorgeous set, and it's a bit of a curio, I don't recall them every having the Paramount and New Line entries all housed together, and I don't imagine when the WB / Paramount deals ends, that should Paramount put out their own set, that they will bother to license the other entries.

It's nice to finally have La Notte. Can't wait to check out The Last American Virgin and the Serpents Path / Eyes Of A Spider double pack. I'm hoping the audio issues with the MDNA tour are purely for the US disc, as the room is currently being redone and my audio set up is... well, not set up. Probably won't be until the end of October either. I'm not hugely harsh when it comes to transfers, hopefully I will be able to live with Plein Soleil, if not, the extras are apparently worth it alone. I love High Plains Drifter, couldn't resist it.

This week is going to be pretty great for releases. Sleepwalker from the BFI, From Up On Poppy Hill, Squirm and Ikarie XB-1 from Second Run looks very interesting too.

He's definitely a film maker of talent, but his films are cerebral, and might require second viewings to straighten out the sometimes tricky plotting. But, good films to revisit if you're thinking of grabbing a few of them. Someone else might be better equipped to answer this question as I've only seen 2 Egoyans - 1994's Exotica, of which my memory is a little fuzzy, but in the last few years I've seen 1999's Felicia's Journey a terrific psychological drama with a magnificent turn by Bob Hoskins...
