The remake on the other hand is actually more satisfying, for a slasher it delivers the goods. The same director also did the remake of Texas Chainsaw, which is also a decent remake (but I definitely prefer the original of that).

Although I don't hold the original Friday the 13th in high esteem, I thought it was vastly superior to the remake. I also hate the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and its sequels.

Recent arrivals have been...

Pre-orders....

It's interesting to note that Marked for Death is now uncut and downgraded to 15. Funny to think it was once too violent to be uncut even at 18!

Also worth noting is that Arrow have said that MGM's license on Squirm ends soon and so the Arrow release won't be around for long. It looks stunning so don't hesitate to pick it up!

Ah... poor ol' Jason, I'm gonna stand up for 'should have had swimming lessons' Voorhees, at the time it was a big deal that a major studio did a 'splatter movie' and the first time I saw it in a packed cinema it rocked the crowd quite well, it was a late night show in 1980 and the crowd was up for it, saw the third in 3D too, so I say hooray for camp Crystal lake, and as for that hockey mask...

The third one is one of the worst films I've ever seen in my life.

I like Thriller but prefer the version without the hardcore inserts myself, and i think Blue sunshine is pretty good too.
