Default Wicked witchery but sadly no hairy hippies.

Thanks to Susan and her idea of Roger Corman films for last weeks lists and a big thanks to all those who took part.

Seeing as there is still no Nordy, i'll post a subject this week.

This week's subject is -

Witchcraft and the Occult.

Can't wait to see your choices.

This is a broad topic. Are there any rules? Witchcraft is one thing but the occult could be argued to include all sorts.

Doing a top 10 is going to be (pun intended) one hell of a challenge!

It has to be broad or we'd all be listing the same films over and over.

However surely the title of Witchcraft and the Occult suggests i mean things like this

However if you wish to go as avante-garde as possible then that's fine.

Some of this seems open to interpretation, so that definition probably includes the religious and supernatural horror films including The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, The Possession of Joel Delaney, The Sentinel, The Devil Rides Out, The Changeling, The Haunting, Burnt Offerings, The Others and The Orphanage, The Evil Dead, The Amityville Horror etc. and 'evil child' films like The Other, The Children, Blood on Satan's Claw and The Innocents should qualify.

This is going to be much tougher than I thought!

Ok then as an example. Does Raimi's The Evil Dead count? How about vampires? Are they considered occult?
