I think you may be right, as I can just sit back and enjoy it rather than comparing it / validating it against the sequels, which for me, are far less enjoyable anyway.

My list is almost the same as Susan's and bizarre_eye's, with these films eliciting a response of 'You enjoy this? Really?' amongst different groups of people.
I could watch all of these repeatedly – and have done – and enjoy them all on different levels. I know people say Citizen Kane is an old one because it is generally regarded as the greatest film ever made, but most regarded as something for film scholars and critics, rather than something which is actually entertaining.

Like I said, it's a film I find very entertaining and funny – its screenplay is often overlooked as people focus on the cinematography, editing and other visual aspects.

6 is the first one I ever saw as a teenager so always have fond memories from that point of view and it's the most fun for me in the series.
