I love the film, but didn't think it fitted the criteria of either phobia or isolation. I'm trying to avoid a spoiler, but I don't think there is any point at which it is mentioned that the protagonist has a phobia of what happens at the end, and neither he nor the antagonist are isolated.

It doesn't have to be mentioned. You're taking it very literately.

I think it's more the phobia for the viewer, i would suggest someone is very isolated come the end.

It's a film my mum would have nightmares about.

That puts a very different slant on what films could have been included, but didn't because they affected the viewer and not the character(s). Films like Buried, Open Water, It etc. would be in the former category.

I think this calls for a completely different list (in addition to the other) this week.

Comic books?

American Splendor
Tank Girl
Danger: Diabolik
The Crow
Spawn (for ALL it's faults, a film I've grown to like)
Modesty Blaise
Kick Ass
Kingsman

Doc Savage: Man Of Bronze
Mad Max: Fury Road (best "comic book" I've seen on screen, structure wise anyhow)

Comic book movies, eh? I'm not mad about superheroes but I might be able to pick a few decent ones.
  • Blade
  • Crying Freeman
  • Ghost in the Shell
  • Akira
  • Batman Returns
  • Dredd
  • Oldboy
  • Punisher: Warzone
  • Ichi the Killer
  • Road to Perdition
