And here are films i'd like to see released in good editions.

The House That Screamed (La Residencia )
Dr Caligari (love this, totally insane)
Homebodies (never seen but sounds interesting)
Queens Of Evil (never seen, sounds interesting with Ray Lovelock)
Blood And Roses (Roger Vadim's vampire film)
Tracks ( Dennis Hopper goes nuts on a train with Nam flashbacks)
Exorcist 3-Cries And Shadows ( Bad film that i have a soft spot for)
Book Of Life ( P.J.Harvey pops up in this)
Jonathon, Vampire Sterben Nicht (interesting arty vampire film that no one seems to know)
Grim Prairie Tales
The Keep
Dream Demon
Legend Of The Werewolf
The Ghoul (70's one)
The Devils (Original Cut with rape of christ in a decent copy)
Eyes Of Fire
Mark Of The Devil 2
Static ( starring the guy from Christine)

Grim Prairie Tales
The Keep
It's been about a thousand years since I saw Grim Prairie Tales but I remember really enjoying it, a long lost gem.
The Keep is shit. But it's very good shit and i'd love to see someone give it the bells and whistles treatment. Or any bloody treatment for that matter. Damn film is on Netflix for goodness sake, why can no one get a disc out. Hell I first watched it (in HD no less) on soddin youtube.

Some of these are not 'official' remakes but I feel they count. Assault on precinct 13 is an unofficial remake of rio bravo for example....True Grit gets a nod for better casting, especially hiring someone not as one dimensional as John Wayne.

Is that a list of your favourite or highly ranked remakes, or films you think are superior to the originals?

Ranked remakes. It has nothing to do with the original films. Nowhere in the topic for the week did it mention remakes being better than the originals.

I know – I was just asking! Are there many, if any, which you do consider superior to the original films?
