Top 10 Christmas Films

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)

It Happened on Fifth Avenue (1947)
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Home Alone (1990)
Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
Joulutarina (2007)
The Thin Man (1934)
Christmas with the Kranks (2004)
The Shop Around the Corner (1940)
Die Hard (1988)
The Holiday (2006)
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
Bell Book and Candle (1958)
Joyeux Noel (2005)
Christmas in Connecticut (1945)
The Polar Express (2004)
Lethal Weapon (1987)
Bad Santa (2003)
Sint (2010)
Don't Open Till Christmas (1984)
We're No Angels (1955)

As a one off, dispensing with the top 10, here's a ranking of my fave Christmas films. Consideration is taken into how Christmassy and festive they actually are rather than film quality and how many times they get a repeat airing.

This weeks subject will run until Tuesday 3rd January as i'm sure i'll be too festive (is that the right word?) to bother changing the subject on Boxing Day night.

A pretty easy one this so he's my top ten Christmas films

Gremlins
A Christmas Story ( apparently a big film in America at this time of year but a film i only saw a couple of years ago, Bob Clark's flipside to Black Christmas and a new favourite)
Batman Returns
Nightmare Before Christmas
Silent Night Deadly Night
National Lampoons A Christmas Vacation
The Grinch
Bell Book And Candle
A Christmas Carol (Alistair Sim Version) 1951
Home Alone (due to it being my daughters favourite at xmas)

Merry Christmas you filthy animals
