Westerns:

1. El Topo (1970)
2. Ravenous (1999)
3. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974)
4. Dead Man (1995)
5. The Good, The Bad, The Weird (2008)
6. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
7. Blazing Saddles (1974)
8. Westworld (1973)
9. Cut Throats Nine (1972)
10. Bone Tomahawk (2015)

As many of you know I can't really abide Westerns so some of these may be stretching the conventional genre definitions a little.

I know why Body Horror didn't take off as a subject.

It's boring. People listing the same films they've listed ten times in the past. Hell even i didn't bother submitting a top 10.

So here's my alternative Body Horror Top 10. Featuring none of the old favourites.

Dans ma peau (2002)
The Ruins (2008)
Splinter (2008)
Strangeland (1998)
Growth (2010)
Creepshow (1982)
The Wax Mask (1997)
Cabin Fever (2002)
The Mutations (1974)
Necromentia (2009)

Some interesting choices there, Dem. Some I haven't seen too.

I was wondering about Ravenous myself but decided not as it's not exactly a western as such even though it's set around the same time.

Hmm! Yes, i'd say you should definitely give them a go. I like them all. I've probably seen The Ruins about five times, Necromentia three and Growth twice.

Just been Googling Necromentia. I'd forgotten how grizzly it was. It would never have got anywhere near a release in the 80's.

I remember buying it (for 1p plus postage) from Amazon on your recommendation and being really surprised by it, I'd recommend it
