Yeah but Pulp fiction is interlocking character stories whereas other stuff the individual stories are more important than the overall Jizz factor. Makes sense to me.

I think Trick r Treat fits as the individual sections while interlocking are seperate enough. I'm more puzzled as to the absence of Creepshow and Creepshow 2...?

Trick r Treat interlocks. If it doesn't how come Dylan Baker, star of the first story ends up werewolf fodder in the werewolf one? If you notice properly, it switches scenes especially early doors.

I agree but there are distinct stories that are intertwined in trick. Pulp Fiction just kind of mashes everything together, much like mr Quentin likes to do. I can't really be arsed to argue but i feel Pulp fiction is more purposely intertwined to be a clever arse when they could be individual and no one would give a shit either way.

I class it as a portmanteau/anthology film because the film contains separate stories which can be watched or as a greater whole being interlinked through common characters. It's different from a film split into 'episodes' like Pulp Fixion (or many of Tarantino's movies) with each of those episodes as part of the same narrative. It is similar to something like Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt or Asylum where the distinct stories are linked with a framing story, this being individual characters' experiences on Halloween night, similar to the characters in Four Rooms (who also crossover between stories) on New Year's Eve.

In Creepshow etc the linking story is separate. There isn't a framing story to Trick r' Treat. If there is, which one is it? Characters move in and out of all the tales. All the events interlink and all take place in the same evening. You can't suggest the likes of Vault of Horror do the same. I'm not sure you lot have watched Trick r Treat recently. |

I agree, but i guess the overall linking theme is Halloween, whereas Pulp Fiction is just a bunch of arseholes with no linking motivation.

I could have sworn Jules and Vega are in the diner that Roth holds up - which links half the film. So in that respect it's no different to Trick r treat. Characters move in and out of others storylines. |
