You seem to rank quite a few of the so-called weaker films quite highly, plus a chunk of Bava Jr's higher than that of his father's.

True. To be honest i'm quite bored with Black Sunday and Planet of the Vampires and enjoyed films such as Knives of the Avenger much more on my last viewings. House of Exorcism is a mess but i prefer this to Lisa and the Devil because it's more lurid and exploitative.

As for Lamberto, Macabre has always been a fave, Demons is rollicking good fun and Delirium is just a personal favourite.

Although i do like Mario Bava i'd never say he was one of my favourite directors. His Gothic horrors such as Black Sunday, Baron Blood and Lisa and the Devil ,whilst looking good are rather slow in the entertainment stakes.

I don't think I've seen 10 of Lamberto Bava's films either (I think about seven) but that's because he made so many films for Italian TV which, at least to my knowledge, haven't been widely released in the UK.

I'm working on mine. I am unsure whether to do one list of 10 of Mario Bava films and a separate top 5 of Lamberto Bava films, which would be relatively easy, or a list of 10 Bava family films, which would be a combination of the two and much tougher. At the moment, I have a list of about 14 from Mario and 6 from Lamberto.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm hoping against hope to get a few more Bava films watched this week. Ain't having much luck though.
