Although if the Signalman had watched all Public information films and had worn his hi viz jacket he probably of been all right.

"Dead of Night" The Exorcism (TV Episode 1972)
Don Taylor takes the season of good will and over spending and rubs our noses in fact that some are privileged while others are not so. Two rather middle class couples get together to celebrate Christmas at Anna Cropper (Rachel)and Edward Petherbridge (Edmund) new home.Clive Swift (Dan)and his wife Sylvia Kay (Margaret)are a real pair of middle class snobs looking forward to over indulging at there friends expense. Edmund shows Dan around there newly restored country house, with all its new mod cons and central heating. Edmund is also at odds with his socialist father, Edmund boasts that he paid 'at least fifty quid, but not much more' Dan reconciles all this by saying "I think we should concentrate on how to be socialists and rich". These four creatures richly deserve what they have coming to them, In fact before all the supernatural stuff kicks off its kind of like one of those house renovating shows mixed with a food programme and with bloody awful fashion sense thrown in for good measure. If you have not seen this before I wont give too much away about the story as its a good one to go into cold before watching it. Unlike normal people (us poor folk)they don't sit around watching the Morecambe and Wise Xmas special, oh no they have to have intellectual conversations on memory and auto suggestion, where's the crackers and boxes of Quality Street? The over indulgence of society then and now has changed much, but luckily for us the viewer these four will get there comeuppance for there elitist ways. For the ghosts of the poor and those that have suffered under the hands of the rich are after revenge. In fact its a good job Clive Swift is it hand since he would go on to marry that other well known snob Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances. You may feel no sympathy for the four protagonists but the spirits you may just side with.

The Exorcism is easily the best of the Dead of Night episodes. Thought Anna Cropper was excellent in it.

Another review I posted on Krank



‘Twas the week before Christmas,
And far across the State,
Mass-murderin’ Jack Frost,
Was about to meet his fate

When his prison truck collided
Into a load of experimental acid
And transformed his appearance
In a manner so horrid

In his cool new form,
He slid to the nearest town
To wreak terrible vengeance
On the sheriff that sent him down

I twitched with befuddlement
Not knowing where this film would go
Especially, considering
The villain was eight feet of snow

Sadly, there were a few cloves
That soured this puddin’
The main offender being
The acting, which was so wooden

Still, there were laughs to be had
From director Michael Cooney’s script
Despite silted delivery,
All characters showed wit

And then there were the kills
Which were of a macabre creation
From axes shoved down throats
To a sleigh-ride decapitation

Still, there is a moment,
That will freeze most people’s claret,
The moment when,
Shannon Elizabeth is raped with a carrot

Now, before you condemn,
Heed the end of this verse:
Despite your objections,
She thinks Tomcats is worse!

I didn't mind Tomcats.

I can't remember anything about it but i normally get rid of comedies immediately if i didn't like them and i still have it on the shelf. Therefore i must have liked it.

Never seen Jack Frost but i do have and enjoyed the daft Jack Frost 2.

Give Jack Frost a watch - it's a laugh.

As for Shannon Elizabeth and Tomcats, I read an interview with a few years back in which she talked about signing on to do a romantic comedy. She said it was a screwball comedy for the R rating crowd - in which she played a police officer who pulls over a guy and gives him a ticket. Naturally, he objects and it would be this tit-for-tat between the two that eventually blossoms into romance. Anyways, she really, really liked the script and she did a lot of preparation for her role. She did some police training, question female police officers on how they manage their careers, relationships and lives. Since the film was taking a while to put together, she continued to research and train until she got a call by her agent. She was told that while she still has the lead female part, the overall focus of the script had changed. Next thing she knew, she was shooting Tomcats.
