"We found a lot of suspicious things out in that cemetery - but then again we didn't find anything to base a fact of suspicion on". They don't make 'em like this anymore. Alas. |

My favourite bad line ever is in Slugs: 'well that slug didn't skate board into the restaurant and onto her plate on it's own!' Nowhere as good as Plan 9 though...

Braindead contains some of my favourite quotes: Lionel Cosgrove: "That's my mother you're pissing on." Father McGruder: "Stand back boy! This calls for divine intervention! I kick arse for the Lord!" Paquita Maria Sanchez: "Your mother ate my dog! " Lionel Cosgrove: "Not all of it. " Zoo Keeper: "Story goes, these great big rats come scuttling off the slave ships and raped all the little tree monkeys" hence the formation of zombie producing Sumatran Rat Monkeys!

Clueless, it's an awesome film.

How about the genuinely moving & deeply emotional tribute given to the recently deceased wife of Bela Lugosi (who was also deceased by the time the film was made though it didn't stop Wood from casting him - or his non-lookalike, non-twin double - in it). Get your hankies ready...... "The sky to which she had once looked was now only a covering for her dead body. The ever beautiful flowers she had planted with her own hands became nothing more than the lost roses of her cheeks" Never mind Stop All The Clocks. This hits you right in the heart doesn't it. |

John Hughes films are superb, there not really 'closet favourites', they are classics, everybody should like them.
