So, to the real burning question - where's the best place to order European BDs?

it is non - anamorphic according to dvdcompare. Are they wrong?

Even the recent AWE release is in letterbox format apparently.

I haven't yet bought Alien 2, so don't know whether to buy the US BD or get this new German hardbox. Decisions, decisions!

Also, I haven't even seen Boogey Man, so will definitely buy that, probably from D&T as I've always been impressed by their service.

Yes, they're wrong. I can state 100% that the Sony DVD is anamorphic 16:9. Definitely. I watched it again recently and it's definitely anamorphic.

It's a terrible film but the transfer on the US edition is absolutely stunning, the best I've seen for an old horror/exploitation movie.

I would imagine the German BD will be using the same transfer.

I'll probably wait for the hardbox in that case. Thanks for the info.

I like some terrible films (the ones generally classed as 'so bad they're good'), but not all of them!
