It certainly delivers if you're into harsher Nikkatsu... maybe wouldn't try to import though (it's not that bad, but I get paranoid about these things anyway).

Guyana: Cult of the Damned- Wait....JOHNSONTOWN?!
The Dude: "Johnson?"
It's freakin' JOHNSTOWN, BUDDY! Though to be fair this is a risky subject (The mass suicide of several dozen deluded religion nut's) that had plenty of press coverage. This biographical exploitation flick (Does this sub-genre even exist?) is rather eary and the mass suicide scene is rather disturbing and quite potent.
An interesting watch but not one i'll be revisiting soon.

Every time I've seen the DVD on Amazon etc. it's always been pretty pricey. As it is not too high on my priority list, I've always skipped it in favour of something else. I do like some of the harsher Nikkatsu (Assault! Jack the Ripper etc.), so will definitely have to bite the bullet and check it out eventually.

Definitely worth a watch, and a couple of notches above 'Assault...' depravity wise. Speaking of which, glad you reminded me of that one, must check it out again...
