Mimsy Farmer is terrific in this (compared to a very lack-lustre performance IMO in Autopsy), plus the Raro print is fantastic. A great gialli-styled thriller and it would make a great potential Shameless release me-thinks...
I have that disk, brilliant!

I've just finished watching John Carpenters They Live. I loved it. I purposely didn't read the synopsis and the film got mentioned by someone the other day so I thought I'd check it out. Plot was really original and I was just generally engrossed the whole way through.
Will definitely be buying a copy on DVD, maybe even Blu-Ray. I'll see what the prices are like.

If you haven't seen it yet do check it out, it's good fun

They Live has always been a favourite of mine. Some great lines by Roddy Piper, including the infamous chew bubblegum one but also in the store when the woman bumps into him.

Yep, They Live is one of my favourite Carpenter films after Assault on Precinct 13 and The Thing.

Following on from last night, I re-watched another gialli-styled thriller; Paolo Cavara's Plot of Fear tonight, which again was released by Raro.

If you haven't seen it, I'd definitely recommended it , not only for the fact that it is a pretty unique giallo, but (I think) it is the only legit release of this title available on DVD. Not one of Raro's best prints, but I think it is a case of 'the best job they could do with what they had to work with' scenario, so is more than adequate IMO.

Plenty of nudity, pornographic cartoons, a tiger, and in an early scene, some VERY ugly prostitutes (hard to imagine how they manage to earn a living! ) Plot of Fear is fairly unknown and hence sorely underrated, but is definitely deserving of a look.

Just watched Adam Green's Spiral.

Pretty cool little thriller which started off kinda slow but then got intresting. The ending was done well too, made u rethink what you saw and then slam u went back to thinking the original thoughts. Suprised it hasnt got a UK dvd release.
