Yes Sickle was quite awful. I watched it just the other day.

I saw it in Woolies a while back (for a pound) but decided to pass. Picked up Pieces instead (which looks better every time you see it) and Curfew (which has the exact opposite effect).

Yeah, I've got both of them too. Loved Pieces but Curfew was pretty poor. I got that for 50p from CEX. It sounded good from the blurb on the back as I'm quite fond of those 70's/80's home invasion/ slasher type films, this one was dire though.

Kyle Richards in a denim mini is appealing but the film itself is boring and bland. The slow-minded brother is John Putch who played Sean Brody in Jaws 3-D.

Ferman rejected it for video back in 1988.

Do you know if it's uncut Vincenzo? It mentions it was previously banned on the cover but dosen't say uncut anywhere. I'd have thought with a cheap release like this they would have made a big deal of it to try and get more sales ala Vipco.

Yes it's fully uncut. Ferman didn't bother suggesting cuts to the film and simply rejected it. His main complaint was the 'walking on glass' scene but basically he just didn't like the film.

Sounds like fair basis on which to ban something

Par for the course for James Ferman.

Yes the 80's saw the BBFC at their worst, especially soon after the introduction of the VRA. The year they banned Curfew was also the same year they nonsensically awarded an 18 rating to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. The year before this they banned numerous films. A very dark period indeed.

Another problem with Curfew was that the police are always shown to be thoroughly inept, simply an excuse so the killers can get on with it.

Terrible film.

The cinema certificate for Mother's Day was also rejected by Ferman. Hasn't seen the light of day since in the UK.
