You'd be a lot better off watching the Lon Chaney film at the top of that linked page, Treb.

Even if he was so pissed throughout filming they could only use him on set for a couple of hours a day.

Sadly it's not included free to watch with prime. But was thinking of this.

I enjoyed this while not as good as the first two i would put it on the same level as the third and is far better than most of what followed. Actually quite gory in places with some disturbing scenes / imagery. The male rape scene is particularly sick. More of police seeking serial killer story than a straight out horror like some of the others. It would be interesting to see what the director could to with a larger budget. The actor paying Pinhead while no Doug is competent and is far superior the fatty pie stealer they found for the last movie. 7/10

Now watching mutant war.

Red White & Blue - Almost turned it off about half way through, up until then it was basically a, lets say promiscuous young lady, 3 friends and an ex-serviceman, the girl seems to be on a mission to sleep her way through the country, the 3 friends doing what friends generally do and the ex-serviceman adjusting to civilian life. Just after the half way mark something is revealed and that is where the pace picks up to the point it all seems to be rushed. Truthfully it's nothing you have not already seen in many other revenge films but if it is a genre you enjoy, if you go into it with the frame of mind it is slow to the point of tedium for the first 50 minutes and then things start to pick up you may enjoy it.

Would give it 3/5 as the acting is actually pretty good and you can kind of see how the characters are how they are.

Underworld (2003).
Underworld_(2003_film)_poster.jpg
Two clans have been fighting each other for years. Both of them want to screw each other, but one side is cleverer than the other and makes a naughty deal. The side plot deals with a woman and a dark secret in her past. Is there anything else you should know? Well...one of the clans is allergic to silver, and the other one cannot cope with UV light. One of them wears fancy clothes, and the other one is rather hairy. The film's neo-noir look is eye-catching, but it's overly long and the story remains rather sketchy. On the other hand, you'll enjoy Beckinsale in a skintight suit, and quite a bit of action. Flawed, but still worth watching.
Bottom line:
- Avoid the Extended Cut - it's even longer.
- The 4K Ultra HD disc looks great.

Florida project .

I'd not heard of it so googled it on IMDb and got 7. Point something and good reviews so thought I watch it .

It based about a women who lives in a motel holiday resort and her kids ,and the manager .
The story mainly resort around them two and her kids annoying people , eg spitting on cars , turning of power etc , and the things the manager has to deal with to run the motel.
At first I thought it seemed OK but got half way mark and felt the film wasn't up to much and no real storyline and as if the film was going nowhere .
So decided to turn it of.

Nerve I also went intot this blind but had seen pictures of the posters etc
Sometimes I like to go into films I've never heard of or don't know much about that way you can't be disappointed because you got no expectation of the film so then you're either pleasantly surprised or not really and just turn the film of .
This I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed , I be buying this if find somewhere reasonable cheap.
About a game online where you enter as a player or watcher , if a player you get given dares and each one more daring than the last for money, but if you fail or lose then you lose all your money and its to the last two who got the most viewers or lasted longest then have to face each other to the end .
I enjoyed it well paced , and some bits your like talking to yourself and saying dont be stupid don't do it I wouldn't, a hell of a lot better than 99% of the films today and also something different for a change as well. Closest to this is 13 game of death ,

Amuck!

Barbera Bouchet plays Greta who is the new secretary of Novelist Richard Stuart, played by Farley Granger. Greta has a secret agenda, she's looking into the disappearance of her lover Sally who was Richard's previous secretary. Greta soon discovers Richard and his wife Elanora played by Rosalba Neri are into kinky sex games. There is also a hulking fisherman with a limited IQ and a habit of perving through windows who also raises suspicions. Pretty soon Greta is being roped into the sexy antics of the couple and begins to realise they may be trying to kill her.
Amuck! is a kinky, entertaining giallo. Obviously the gorgeous Barbera Bouchet is a big draw for Giallo fans. She's on top form here and sheds her clothing fairly regularly. The plot is actually quite suspenseful and the ending is great. The 88 films release looks great here and considering its not especially expensive its probably worth picking up.

Seven deaths in the cats eye

A rich, Gothic Giallo with Jane Birkin who heads to a remote Scottish castle and gets embroiled in a series of murders. The film is a terrific thriller with a rich Gothic atmosphere directed by Antonio Marghereti who is great at these sort of films, even though he got quickly tired of them. Its full of secret passages, family curses, mouldering crypts and a bit of sexual intrigue. It even throws an ape into the mix. Pretty much a guy in the suit and the only really dumb thing in an otherwise solid picture. The killings are not excessively gory but with a film like this it's not that important. Marghereti's gothic pictures were rarely that extreme anyway and here its all about the atmosphere and family dynamic.

Short night of the glass dolls

Journalist Gregory Moore (Jean Sorel) is found seemingly dead in a Prague park. However we soon learn he's actually alive but trapped in his body, desperate for someone to notice he's not dead as he faces a pending autopsy. As he lies on the slab he flashes back to the events that led him to his current predicament, the disappearance of his girlfriend and the occult conspiracy he uncovers investigating it.
Aldo Lado's Giallo is one of the real highlights of the genre. Not only is it incredibly intense, as Moore desperately pleads for someone to notice he's alive. It's also a very smart little picture. The setting in Prague is a great idea. Made only a few years after the Prague spring and the attempt to liberalise the country after the repressive communist regime that took power after world war 2. One of the themes of the film is the repression of the state against individualism and the corruption of the authoritarian state. Its also worth noting that Prague was the home town of Franz Kafka whose more nightmarish tales of bureaucracy going out of control informs some of the plot points of the film. Also the occult history of Prague certainly comes into play, especially in the final act.
I have the camera obscura release of this, but honestly if you haven't picked this up yet save your cash and buy 88's release. There's very little difference in the transfers an if anything 88's looks slightly better. Its probably £20 or so cheaper as well

The sister of Ursula

Two sisters, Ursula and Dagmar, arrive at a seaside hotel. Ursula, played by Barbara Magnolfi is a bit of a strange one. She seems to take an instant dislike to the people she meets. Her sister attributes this to her psychic powers where she seems to be able to see everything about a person. The hotel has its fare share of characters, including Yyvonne Harlow as club singer Stella Shining and her junkie lover Fillipo. The resort is being terrorised by a killer with a fetish for watching people screw before stepping in and raping the women to death with his huge cock. Naturally the sisters get drawn into the mystery and need to discover who the killer is.
This one's a fairly bog standard giallo picture enlivened by liberal doses of filth. Its an utterly sleazy affair with plenty of gratuitous bush shots and soft core action. apparently it was briefly hardcore before the director stepped in and put his foot down. It was also initially intended to be a much more classy affair with Dirk Bogarde appearing before the producer decided to slash the budget and make things more 'commercial'. Its not a great film in terms of quality, however the excellent location and the sheer sleaze of the piece make it worth a punt.

Designated victim.

Tomas Milian plays Stefano Augenti, a successful fashion designer who is under the thumb of his rich wife. He's fallen in love with someone else and wants to sell the business for a huge amount and leave for south america with his new lady. However the shares are all in his wifes name and she won't sell. While in Venice Stefano makes friends with "Count" Matteo Tiepolo, a foppish aristocrat who makes Stefano a proposition. He will kill Stefano's wife and in return Stefano must kill his domineering brother. Stefano brushes this off as a joke, however the count begins turning up unexpectedly until one night his wife is murdered. Stefano soon discovers that Tiepolo has decided to go ahead with his part of the bargain and has set things up so Stefano either goes to Jail or kills Tiepolo's brother.
The film is an excellent update of Hitchcock's strangers on a train. Pierre Clémenti is terrific as the count, seemingly friendly on the surface but utterly unhinged underneath. He plays it as the character has an unspoken homosexual attraction to Millian's character. While Milian plays his character as essentially a nice guy, a little dumb and deeply flawed perhaps, but not necessarily a bad person.

Maitresse (1976)

An extremely controversial film about a petty thief (Gerard Depardieu) who breaks into a Paris apartment and unwittingly enters the realm of a dominatrix (Bulle Ogier) who entertains clients in her, for want of a better word, dungeon.

The BBFC and other censors had real problems with Maitresse (Mistress) upon release thanks to some near pornographic depictions of real S&M sex but the film is about so much more than titillation.

Maitresse is an exploration of sadism - the desire to inflict pain via sexual situations - and masochism - the desire to receive such pleasure - and the ways in which each role may or may not be in control of the situation. Director Barbet Schroeder also plays with Depardieu and the viewer and their own assumptions, attitudes and role in such acts as an observer and how deeply it may draw them into a world of desires they never suspected they had and it's through this that Depardieu and Ogier's romance plays out which is probably the most important thing in the film.

Maitresse isn't as you can imagine easy viewing, some may still find it hard to watch, in fact i admit i fast forwarded without looking a scene at an abattoir which i had seen previously on vhs where horses are slaughtered, but overall it's a fascinating, transgressive film about the complexities of relationships in a dark love story.
