Recently bought the 20 anniversary edition of Basket Case from Something Wierd video. Cool cover & lots of extras.
It was one of those films that passed me by but having watched it I can confirm that it's pretty cool.
unfortunately 2 & 3 are pretty shit, coming off like a third rate Beetlejuice, lol!

I have a soft spot for Basket Case 2 and 3. Especially part 2. I'm glad Frank Henenlotter is making films again. The film world has been a poorer place without him.

don't get me wrong, they both have their merits.A horror films got to be super awful for me to slate it!! I just expected more after the first one, of the sequels I prefer number 2.
Still, can't complain, I bought 2 & 3 on the same disc from HMV for £4!

Yeah, Henenlotter's a legend, I love his films. I really enjoyed the Basket Case sequels Part 2 was definately better but for a bit of crazy mindless fun you can't beat them. That scene where Belial has sex with the female deformed head thing - absolute classic!

I have the SWV 20th Anniversary Basket Case aswell, great release and it's loaded with extra's. Nice choice 1313

Frank Henenlotter has also done some great work with Something Weird (one of my very favourite DVD labels). The man is most certainly a hero in my household. He was releasing old Grindhouse/42nd Street flicks out onto disc loooong before Quentin Tarantino released a certain double-bill.

I like Frankenhooker a lot. It's good trashy fun and that reminds me; I really must upgrade from my VHS. It's got a talking case but unfortunately it no longer works. It used to say "WANNA DATE?" .
I also adore Brain Damage though nothing beats Basket Case. I've seen it countless times and is one film that I never seem to grow bored of. Be interesting to see how his new one - Bad Biology - fares. I've heard some good stuff about it though the trailer didn't impress me. Frank couldn't possibly make a bad film, could he?
