I would have to go with Mad Max and Chopper, but also really enjoyed Patrick and, more recently, Wolf Creek, Rogue, and Storm Warning. Have yet to see Razorback, but have just picked up the German release on eBay for a couple of Euros, so looking forward to that arriving! And what about 'Breaker Morant'? Love that film. Personally, I'm a big fan of Aussie films, and have seen many good ones over the years - usually caught on late night TV as a wee lad - but sadly I have forgotten the names of many of them, which is a great pity as I would like to revisit many of them .

Cheers, dude; funnily enough, reading this thread makes me think that one of them may actually have been 'Malcolm' - a film I also remember seeing on TV about 20 years ago!

I didn't want to open a new thread, but I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on this: I'm curious to know whether or not the version on the UK DVD of "Wolf Creek" is identical to the US "R-Rated" cut (as seem to be quite a few releases, for instance the German disc)? There seems to be some confusion over "Wolf Creek" as the main difference between the "R-" and "Unrated" US discs is represented by some re-inserted-into-the-movie "deleted scenes", which also feature on the UK disc as- well- "deleted scenes". And yet there are also a few extra frames of chopped fingers, which can be spotted in the "unrated" version. So, my guess would be that the UK disc is the Australian cinema version, yet I'm not sure if the Australian cinema version is identical to the US "R-Rated" cut- or not. I went through 8 pages till i found this. how did it take so long for someone to mention Chopper!? Chopper is so great! It would have to be my favourite Aussie film in tie with The Man From Hong Kong, Romper Stomper and Mad Max! Another Aussie great is The Proposition, EVERYONE CHECK THAT OUT! The Proposition - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Other Aussie greats are BMX Bandits, The Dish, Two Hands and Dead End Drive In

I watched Dead Calm for the first in years last night and I was surprised how well it still stands up, the cinematography and use of music/sound is fantastic.
