The original is brilliant, TCM2 and Nispel's/Bay's remake (2003) are entertaining.

I could also say stuff like American Pie and Road Trip (that's the Tom Green one, right?), but I get that they're 'NOT MADE FOR ME', so wouldn't really put them on a list . . .

The problem of all modern American teenage comedies is that they're way too formulaic. Bingeing, ****ing, and fooling around.

I'd love life to be as simple and entertaining as that, but as for films, watching one of those specimens once is more than enough.

Yeah that's my opinion of this sort of thing. I generally know what I'd like and dislike so stuff like American Pie et al don't bother me or make me angry. Although the same could be said for The Hangover but that really REALLY annoyed me.

It's more the sickening American sentimentality that grates for me. No matter how gross-out the comedy, in the end they're always about learning valuable LIFE LESSONS and all that bullshit, usually with one of the teens providing narration to spell it all out . . .

Edit: oh forgot I also had to sit through The Hangover 2. Same adjectives but also add 'racist' and 'homophobic'
Said it before, but you just listed everything that made it funny!

The Hangover is awful. I can't even bring myself to watch either of the sequels. Horrible, unfunny (cut and paste Paul's list as he's completely correct!) movie. Do you enjoy laughing at homophobic and racist remarks in a film from the 21st century?

I have no problem with it in the slightest.
Just as some people think Frankie Boyle goes way over the line in his comedy, I find him funny. I suppose I'm going to be branded a racist because I find it all funny? As far as I'm concerned, everyone is fair game.
