These two really are like Marmite aren't they? I don't think I've met anyone who has ever said 'yeah, they were all right I suppose'. It's always one extreme or the other!

Yeah, I enjoyed that one a lot more than I thought I would.

Will Farrel can be good (personally, I think Anchorman is great) but he has done some garbage, granted.

I think most of my love for Highlander comes from the nostalgia of being a small lad back in the '80s; it was one of those big VHS hits that absolutely everyone had seen, like The Terminator, Running Man, Cobra etc. It's just so 'of it's time', and I think that's why I love it.

Yeah, I forgot

Exorcist 2 - Boorman messed up this one
Twilight - seeing one was enough
A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 - a rushed sequel, typical American
Dr. Doolitle - I saw this crap with my girlfriend and was embarassed by Murphy and the film

NOES not so much as a rushed sequel but it was meant to be a film on its own,.. the makers sold the rights to some other company ...then realised how bad the sequel was then bought the rights back.. hence reason it for being rubbish..

To be honset Eddie murphy apart from the odd exception like 48hrs Beverly hills cop i personaly think all his films are rubbish,..Trading places is well overrated..

To be honest, I find most of the Nightmare on Elm Street films to be rubbish.

I think every review I've read about ANOES2 has always been a 'sequel'.......
I agree about most of Murphy's films being rubbish
I did like 48Hrs, Trading Places, Coming To America, Beverly Hills Cop, BHC2 was at times TOO improvised, BHC3 was crap and a lot of his stuff have bombed

Part 3 is ok because of the artery puppetry, but i have always thought them, well, a bit crap really. I don't appreciate Freddies one liners, and have never found films which centre on dreams to be remotely scary.
I don't even rate the first film.

The only Freddy film i own is Freddy vs Jason, and thats only due to Jason.

FREDDY VS JASON is a forgettable film with me
Fangoria didn't even list it on their chainsaw awards because they couldn't find anything to recommend it

I've owned them all at some stage, but only have the original now.

I think the original is okay, and New Nightmare isn't bad, but, like you, I'm not a fan of the series as a whole.

The same goes for the Friday 13th series too, though.

I think when franchises start to runaway with themselves to the point of umpteen sequels it spoils the series as a whole, and instead of getting one or two classic films, you get maybe 6 or 8 - the majority of which are awful.

ANOES was a good horror and if ever released UNCUT on dvd I would buy (I know there's a dvd-r) but that last scene was too fake and the dummy was for all to see
Wes Craven has apologised for that!

I love the Friday films.

I can't get enough of the lumbering zombie killer who is silent as a mouse each time he jumps out at someone and who's walk appears quicker than Usain Bolt at top speed.

They just hit the right notes with me, probably as i lived my teen years with them.
