I prefer The Ghoul too, I used to have the Taste of Fear VHS tapes of both Legend of the Werewolf & The Ghoul but unfortunately sold them off ages ago.I'd re-buy them on DVD if they were released perhaps as a double disc set.I thought the werewolf's look in 'Legend' was a nice tribute to Roy Ashton's Ollie Reed make-up from Curse of the Werewolf.

How could such a great movie like the howling spawn two of the worst sequels(and films) ever.
I am of course talkin aboot howling 3 and line dance a go-go,aka howling 7-mystery woman. Surely two of the worst horror films ever made.

Bad moon, whilst a bit daft is an effective enough werewolf flick, but my fave(and this is difficult between the two)is american werewolf,by a baw hair from the howling. Both cracking films, with their own vein of humour running throughout, but its rick bakers work on awil that clinches it for me.

Default Best Werewolf Movies US or Otherwise

I remember reading about a werewolf film that was coming out and of course for the life of me can't remember what it was. So I got thinking maybe a thread would generate a good list of "must see's"!

A few off the top of my head:

American Werewolf in London
Dog Soldiers
The Howling

It wouldn't have been The Wolfman (2010)?

My favourites are, in no particular order:

An American Werewolf in London
The Howling
Company of Wolves
The Wolf Man
Curse of the Werewolf
Ginger Snaps (the whole trilogy)
Dog Soldiers

There are probably more than I just can't think of at the moment, but those other ones that spring to mind.

1935's WEREWOLF OF LONDON is my overall favourite werewolf movie.... but there has been so many good ones. I used to love SK's SILVER BULLET when I was younger. Gary Busey was awesome in that film!

I think LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF was Tyburn studios' best effort
