If it wasn't a religious film, the sheer amount of violence and sadism in the film would mark it as one of the most brutal and controversial films ever made. Actually, the religious aspect probably adds to the controversy and makes it a visceral ordeal horror!

I was talking to my extremely catholic cousin yesterday. He wasn't happy that I had a Demoni poster on my wall and asked if I was in any way aware that these movies 'promoted satanism and eatern occult'. People say the darndest things!

Ah, you have to feel sorry for people who are so rigid and dogmatic really.
