Ok, I've been a big fan of Giallo for years, an old friend whome I don't see anymore lent me some imported ones years ago and I have a few questions as I'm trying to seek them out. One has a final scene in which a woman is trapped by the killer in this factory style room where rats are all over the floor and trying to attack her. It's almost like something from a Saw movie. The second has a really groovy scene when a woman stands on a table and starts singing a song like 'daughter, daughter, der der der etc' and everyone in the whole room joins in and starts clapping. Very cool and funky scene. I know it sounds vague but if any experts who have seen nearly all of them can let me know I'll kiss your shoes. Also, my favorite giallo is The Strange Vice of Mrs Ward. I know it's an obvious choice but the soundtrack and Edwidge Feneche at her hottest really gets me every time! I also have a soft spot for The New York Ripper, Fulci never holds back on the gore and pushes it as far as it will go! Quack quack! Also, what are the goriest and most explicit giallo films can you recommend? After all, apart from the soundtrack and luxurious 70s Italian settings and beautiful women, we all know why we REALLY like giallo. |

Last night I watched 'The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire' and it was one of the worst gialli I have seen so far.

I enjoyed it. What didn't you like about it?

Pretty much everything really - boring, poorly directed, bad special effects, inexplicable Ireland setting resulting in unintentionally amusing accents, ah well I must wade through the shit to pick out the gems! The best gialli I have seen recently are Black Belly of the Tarantula and The Case of the Scorpion's Tail.

I like Iguana personally. Would be even better with a good print. It was slightly jarring with the constant close-ups of glasses on the NEW DVD until I learned you were actually supposed to be able to see the killer in the opening scene. Tarantula is great but I've found Scorpion's Tail quite hard work. |

Has anyone here seen Amer? It's not technically Gialli but the mood and atmosphere definitely resembles one. It's an interesting homage. I bought the blu ray and it really is superb, it's quite cheap too (just under 7 quid). Would anyone else be able to answer my question? |

Yeah I've got it on Blu-ray, I'd call it a neo-giallo. When I watched the aforementioned 'Black Belly' and 'Scorpion's Tail' I was like 'oh my God! The music from Amer!' haha
