Thats deffo one that springs to mind i tried to stay away from Grotesque but was on net one night and it was there to watch on line and i did. i turned off half way through,

The worst of the so called nasties from 70 n 80s etc are quite mild and tame compared to todays standards,
I mean whats wrong with good old fashioned horror, take films like
Exorcist
Omen
Halloween
Psycho
Friday 13th
Tcm
Hills have eyes

are just a few mainstream horrors that are even enjoyed by none horror fans
These types of films are favourites from the old generation, New generartion, and possible the next generation of films fans
it say something when todays films are splitting fans of horror even fans of extreme about the context of the film of what acceptable and what not...
A lot of old horrors might not be everyone taste mearly because they just found the film boring dull etc ,
I just think a lot of todays films is just a case of trying to out do each other in how far they can go with violence. gore of some sick scene even the mainstream horrors are heading that way like Hostel saw etc never mind the underground films..
And to be honest i just dont see the appeal in these type of films or exactly what audience these films aiming at,
Why cant they just concentrate on making a good film with gore and violence, thats why some films are purely utter shite because thats all they aimed for is the gore and violence that they havent concentrated in actualy making the film any good..
Take some of the greatest horror film directors
Cronenberg
Fulci
Argento
Carpenter
Hooper
they have made some fantastic films they concentrated on violence gore etc and gave the audience the type of films they want without relying to heavily on being controversial,

He wanted "controversial" films. It fits that category.
I don't know really. Having watched a sequence recently where a zombie shags a woman (with her also sticking her hands into his carcass at points), which to my mind was far "worse" than anything from Nekromantik etc...and i got this from Lovefilm!! No doubt some civillian would think this is beyond the pale etc, were as i thought it was rather erotik

I suppose it all depends on how jaded you are.

Well this is what passes for "extreme" these days G. I don't really know what you want here though, you mention "classic" horror, but most of them were derided as "goremongers" at the time let's not forget, so who's to say Tom Six won't produce something equal in the future??

For sickness, Nekromantik still takes some beating IMO.The Jim Van Bebber short film, 'Roadkill: The Last Days of John Martin', is also pretty repulsive.

Just saying whats wrong with good old fashioned horror style yes maybe tom six and loads of other up and coming new film director/producers probably will make a classic film
but to me there extreme and then pretty sick i mean look at the gore stakes at inside and and there was plenty and it was a great film as well.
for eg masterbating someone of with a light bulb then breaking it inside her and then get asked to shag her not exactly in good taste realy there bad taste and just plain wrong....Not saying my opinions are right or wrong or people have to agree or disagree but surely you must have watched a film at some point and thought they have oversteped the mark slightly or the film has grossed you out you felt disgusted or dirty watching it..Surely there must be a film out there that from what you read or you know a certain scene has put you off it ...
(Anyhow ill shut up and finish my rant)
