I'm a big jc fan. My favourite movies from him would be Halloween, the thing, escape from new York and assault on precinct 13. And his two masters of horror episodes are good also.

Carpenter's Cigarette Burns was arguably the best of the first MoH series. It certainly proved he still had it in him to make great horror.

Just finished watching this, having picked up the boxset with this and Stuart Gordon's episode for a pound today. Absolutely brilliant

Default The Thing

Did these to see what The Thing might look like if ARROW ever released it on bluray.

I think my favourite Carpenter film is a toss up between the Fog and The Thing... I mean look at it this way-

. Gore= The Thing... for obvious reasons!
. The Cast= The Fog: Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, Jamie Lee Curtis, Charles Cyphers, Nancy Keyes, Hal Holbrook and JANET LEIGH!

See I find The Thing more scary and gory, but the fact that the Fog has such a good cast, makes it impossible for me to choose between them!
