I'm currently reading Cronenberg on Cronenberg.
Fascinating stuff indeed.

I suppose Cronenberg is a bit like Marmite/love it or hate it setup.

I think he's one of the finest directors of his generation.....

What do some of the newer members think?

I read that book back in '92, might have been the first printing. It's great, those Faber 'on' books are brilliant, I've read the ones on Burton, Schrader and Scorsese too.

I think Cronenberg is a brilliant filmmaker as even with his most mainstream films (The Fly, Eastern Promises, etc) they're still true to his body of work and never a sell out. He's made some grea films but of probably rate Videodrome and Dead Ringers as my favourites but I have a lot of love for The Fly and Crash too. Actually I'd be hard pushed to say that there was one of his films prior to the last two that I didn't thoroughly enjoy an I reckon Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis might be better second time around anyway.

Reminds me, I've still not seen Fast Company or M Butterfly despite owning ten for years!

Thanks for the reply mate.
Time we all got back to talking film!

Yeah,I've just read past where he recalls Universal backing Videodrome.
Unbelievable that a major stood by this sort of project, part financed it,promoted it AND distributed it as promised.

I've owned them since the dawn of dvd as well!

I've seen Dead Ringers on video a few times, but my DVD is still bloody sealed!

Is the futuristic STEREO out on disc?

Yeah I've got Lars On Von Trier - a really entertaining read. Gonna have to seek out the Cronenberg one . . .

And now we have a second Cronenberg to cherish. Antiviral is right up there on my films to see this year. Wonderfully icky premise, like Charlie Brooker meets Body Horror . . .

I attempted Cosmopolis during the festive hols.....don't know if it's Pattison or not,but I'll need to try it again in a better frame of mind.

To avoid thinking of Twilight, just keep repeating....

It's a Cronenberg movie.....
