Posted these in another Cronenberg thread, thought I'd put it here as well:

I have fond memories of trying to track down his two early films - Rabid and Shivers - in the early 90's, after reading about them in Stephen Kings 'Danse Macabre'. It took many phone calls, and much leg work, but I eventually found them both at a rental shop. Both remain two of my favourite films, although Videodrome is my all time favourite Cronenberg.
Recently, my wife watched Rabid with me and it REALLY freaked her out, but she couldn't put her finger on why. The final scene, of her body being thrown in the rubbish truck was pretty disturbing for her.
The Brood is also a favourite of mine.

What do you guys think of eXistenZ?
I watched it recently, for the third time, and liked it a lot more than when I first saw it. Certainly not as good as Videodrome/Rabid/Shivers/The Brood, but I still enjoyed it a lot.
Lincoln.

Like most people on here I've watched loads of sick and extreme movies but I find The Fly tough viewing! It's brilliant but it really gets under my skin: his decay/transformation, the tragic romance, the larvae birth dream sequence and the dark as hell moment where Jeff Goldblum says "You have to leave now, and never come back here. Have you ever heard of insect politics? Neither have I. Insects... don't have politics. They're very... brutal. No compassion, no compromise. We can't trust the insect. I'd like to become the first... insect politician. Y'see, I'd like to, but... I'm afraid, uh... "......."I'm saying... I'll hurt you if you stay."

Nasty, nasty, nasty
