I'll be asleep by midnight, these summer nights are not for me

It's very warm this evening. Can't see it being as cool as last night later on.

I shall be needing ice in my Jack Daniels for the G N'R performance.

The Manics are awesome.

A fantastic greatest hits set.

Guest singer The Anchoress was brilliant like a cross between Imelda May and Paloma Faith.

Slash is like a God amongst men.

Is there anyone cooler?

Hmm! Now not likely. A Carry On film is now more likely as i'm slightly tipsy having drunk almost half a liter of Jack Daniels.

With lot's of ice of course.

The set list was amazing. I didn’t think I’d get to hear songs like Double Talking Jive or Pretty Tied Up. It was amazing when the whole audience sang Welcome to the Jungle but even better when Sweet Child O Mine came on and they all went crazy.

Slash standing alone against the night sky playing those magical solos was simply wonderful.

From what i understand Axl's voice was clear as a bell live but kept getting lost in the tv mix.

Axl was clearly loving being there at such a prestigious festival for the first time in his career, it must be so gratifying, especially when tens of thousands of people are singing your songs back to you at an event where tickets sell out before a single performer is announced. It goes to show how ubiquitous those songs are. It's a shame about the vocals, I did put it down to a dodgy microphone, there were points when he was obviously singing but no noise was coming out.

I've tried listening to a bit of G n'Rs performance on iPlayer and I have to say the audio seems terrible. Can barely hear him in the bits I skimmed through. I'll try it later on an actual TV.
