Nocturnus were quite revolutionary at the time for adding keys to death metal.

Saw them in back in '91, I think? Mike Davis and Sean McNenny blew my mind with their guitar playing to the point where I stepped back from the mosh pit just to watch them play. Oh, I wish I had a time machine....

One more for good luck! If you are into metal you really need to buy this album (Atheist - Unquestionable Presence) now, it's an absolute classic. Atheist - An Incarnation's Dream.

As much as I like it ,UP has to be the pinicle for me. Have you heard any Cynic? They were based in Florida and were all uber musicians. Half of them played on Death's Human (One of my top ten metal albums of all time). in fact here's what I,m talking about, Death - Flattening of Emotions.

I'll have to have a look into Cynic. I agree with you about Human by Death. That band impressed me when i first heard Scream Bloody Gore way back. |
