Despite them being a local band I only got to see them live one time, when Necroticism came out I was still at school and they were playing 18+ venues so I had to wait until the Heartwork tour where I saw them play at Liverpool's Krazy House which was a homecoming gig and the place was rammed, such a good gig. They kind of disappeared after that and I'm not really into going to Death Metal gigs these days

Just had my first listen to Volbeat's new album Seal the Deal and Let's Boogie. Although i'd been aware of them in the past and indeed streamed some of their music this was the first of their albums i actually bought. On first listen their catchy amalgamation of Metallica, Graves era Misfits and spaghetti western music with a shiny metal edge is absolutely terrific. The songs are so catchy and Michael Poulsen's vocals stand out pitch perfect clear. I'll be buying their other albums sooner rather than later. Volbeat might be my new favourite band. Here's the opening track. |
