I've just finished listening to The Bends by Radiohead, which is only bettered by OK Computer for their best album and, for a change of mood entirely, I'm now listening to the Cannibal Holocaust soundtrack.

Not Kid A ? That and Amnesiac are my favourites... I was disappointed that they went back to conventional sounding stuff after that...

Don't get me wrong, I really like Kid A/Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows and The King of Limbs, but it's probably because OK Computer was released shortly after I came home from an 18 month stay in hospital (or, more specifically, four hospitals) and was out buying CDs and DVDs, immersing myself in the music and films I'd largely missed over the past year and a half that the 1997 album is my favourite – I also consider it one of the best albums ever made.

In any case, I'm now listening to Kid A, with Amnesiac to follow!

Been listening to the new Kiss album - Monster.

On first listen its terrific. The song structures hark back to the seventies and Tommy Thayer's guitars, and solo's especially, are high in the mix finally putting the Ace Frehley era to bed.

Paul Stanley has written the bulk of the material which is always a good sign, along with Thayer who has his hand in nine of the twelve tracks.

Sonic Boom was an excellent comeback for the band and this continues the great work.

As a footnote. The 3D picture sleeve version is well worth picking up. Its the best 3D image i've seen, showing amazing depth and even the finest details stand out with no blurring.

Listening to the music of decay - William Basinski's Disintegration Loops, a collection of short ambient tape loops which are slowly and agonizingly destroyed as the music plays itself out, ending up as ghostly fragments of hiss and static... Extraordinary stuff.

Talk about super fan!
