Maybe they will cut it even more than the Shameless DVD release! I haven't seen New York Ripper for ages, all I have at present is the old Anchor Bay R1 DVD.Does anyone know if this AB version differs in any way to the one put out by Blue Underground on DVD/BD? I'll give it a re-watch soon and decide whether it's worth me buying it again on Blu-ray.

It's really funny - in the UK, people can slice an eye but not a nipple.

I think it would take more than just myself to persuade the chaps at the BBFC not to cut the film. Probably be a while until they make a decision. Lets all bow our heads and pray for a moment that it's a good one.

I think it is terrible that violence against women is censored when men being tortured is acceptable. I may be wrong but I'm sure that the Hostel 2 bluray I seen a while ago was a uk release. And in that you see a woman cutting off a man's willie If that was a uk bluray then, surely the people classifying don't find that less offensive than the scene cut form NYR

I'm watching Jess Franco's Bloody Moon right now and just witnessed a scene where a woman gets stabbed through the back and the knife emerges through her nipple on the other side! Surely this can't have been any less offensive to the BBFC than the scene in NYR?

I don't think the scene would be that much of a problem if she wasn't tied to the bed, the BBFC don't like that.

The BBFC passed a similar( ish ) effect in Flavia The Heretic.

But they can be very inconsistant in their decisions, so who knows?
