I wasn't really being serious when I said Street Fighter, so when I spotted this on amazon I was shocked.

"Shadaloo, Southeast Asia, 1995. As civil war enters its seventh month, warlord General M Bison (Raul Julia, The Addams Family) brings the crisis to the brink of global conflict when he takes 63 Allied Nations relief workers hostage, threatening to execute them unless a ransom of $20 billion is forthcoming. Colonel William F. Guile (Jean-Claude Van Damme, Timecop, Universal Soldier) is given the mission to rescue the hostages – but first he must locate them. The action reaches fever pitch as Guile, Cammy (Kylie Minogue) Bison and their collective forces clash in a highly-charged climactic battle, with the fate of the free world hanging in the balance. From the writer of Die Hard and Judge Dredd, STREET FIGHTER is an action-packed, fun-filled film."

Ach don't worry-the original art on the front is still class.;)

Now Mr.88......what about Piranha 2? :eyebrows:

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 17th June 2020 07:16 PM

I had a package from 88 Films a couple of days ago with the latest from The Italian Collection and the new Jackie Chan release. I wish they could have commentaries by someone who isn't a sleazy apologist for the Chinese government.

an interesting tidbit dropped by Calum Waddell on Blurage that might be useful to know when selecting your 88 purchases is that their licence for Shaw Bros titles runs only 3 years. i guess its a case of get 'em while you can...

It sounds like you've been possessed by the vitriolic personality of someone else there - come on, you're better than that...

So someone who doesn't have the same political beliefs as you should be cancelled? That's a dangerous road to be navigating, that one...

Look, I'm not out for an argument with you, I just think you should be a little more careful before publicly labelling someone "sleazy" when you do not know this person outside of a cursory glance at his Twitter feed...

I don't know him from Adam either and I have no connection to him but the extras he's done have merit and its clear that the likes of 88 Films and Criterion think so too.

John Matrix 5th July 2020 06:30 PM

Who are we talking about?

I've got loads of the 88 Films Jackie and Shaw Brothers films still to pick up.

I'd get buying seeing as their license only runs three years. It's probably coming to an end now.

Justin101 5th July 2020 06:50 PM

It's on a film by film basis so it's the first round of films running out, Hex, Black Magic etc...

Ah right, don't know much about him and yet to listen to any of his commentaries. I still love old cringey, sleazey Bey's commentaries so I'm sure I'll be ok with Mike :)

Fopp seriously need to get a good 88 Films sale on the go, must be about a dozen of their Asian ones I need to get.

He also seems to want breast milk from a Japanese glamour model and has offered to be her representative.

He made a similar approach to a porn actress/model. As far as I'm aware, he isn't an agent.

will graham 6th July 2020 01:52 AM

Well I'm not going to judge him for commenting and following a porn actress and especially as someone who has a friend that does webcam modeling although yeah I think the comment could have been in better taste. But really how many people on twitter do u think there are that dont have an interest with adult material?

For the inquiring hmmm, from those posts you put that doesn't say he is trying to be their agent, and he does know agents in the industry so he might be offering them legit work or how to find it. I have seen musicians been asked like this before about future work (not just women) but than again I have also known pervs to ask that as well. Question is if the person wasn't an adult model would you think it was dodgy?

Leeder was one of the main people to call out bey logan and distanced himself before the news got out about bay.

Interesting that he talks about politics on twitter. I follow leeder on Instagram and never ever brings it up. Just talks about films.
