Pic quality is good but it is not uncut! The Road to Hell sequence is missing a few frames, nothing too much - a body being dragged to a truck, maybe an execution aftermath - but it jumps and the music hiccups, it's bloody annoying.
Extras are the Cannibal Files - in Italian, The Alan Yates File - In English and the Green Inferno Files - Half English half Italian. And a trailer.
I guess we'll have to wait for Grindhouse or someone else to put out the definitive uncut BD.
Damn!

Code Red have pretty much confirmed that they are looking into releasing one - possibly this year.

I'm still not sure if Xtroan Shogun Assassin were official Video Nasties. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Just from memory (not actually looking it up in a book or anything!) I believe that they were both films that disappeared off the shelves when the shit hit the fan due to over zealous officials not having a clue what they were looking for and banning anything with a perceived dodgy title. This is how Samuel Fullers' Big Red 1 and other films like Best Whorehouse in Texas managed to also make the list. Although how they missed Maniac and Zombie Holocaust is beyond me!!
After preliminary screenings these two and other films were taken off the list but saying that they didn't suddenly re-appear on the video shelves, they were gone for good. Pre Internet days it was difficult to find out exactly what was banned and what wasn't. For myself and a few others it wasn't until Steve C unleashed his 'zine In The Flesh that horror fans were given a "definitive" list of the Nasties compiled from 4 different sources that brought the number up to 81 films.
That got whittled down as films were knocked off the list to 74, and then that number was split almost in half again to distinguish the "nastier films they had a chance of prosecution" from the others.
I think if we wanted to split hairs then the "Official Nasty List" would be the DPP 39 and all the others who just visited the nasty realm for a while could be considered not.
But for me, Xtro and Shogun Assassin are on the list!!

Shogun Assassin and Xtro have often been mistakenly listed as video nasties, though neither film ever appeared on any official DPP lists.
