I don't mind films looking grungy but not utter shit like the first in the set does. Can't comment on the other's because I didn't watch them - the transfer of the first put me of.

I might have low standards maybe... I thought the Black Christmas Blu was pretty good despite a lot of flack it got. It certainly looks better than any DVD. Having said that, I have been scared off the UK Escape From New York Blu...

I don't know any different, it's the only version of it I've seen, and like I say, I'm more than happy with how the film looks. The grunginess is all part of the charm . . .

I don't have high standards, far from it - I collected every single Vipco DVD and thought Arrow's transfer of TENEBRAE was actually pretty good.

I watched it yesterday and didn't think it was that bad either

It's probably no better or worse than a lot of Arrow's other stuff but looks worse because most of the film is set in bright daylight.

I wouldn't mind but there were better transfers available and they never used them.

There's a lot of love and forgiveness on this thread, I can feel those positive vibes... One thing that scared me more than transfers were Warners' snapper cases - truely an abomination ! I had a manical loathing for them. Luckily there's a pile of Warners that I'll be buying on Blu, for the first time - Altered States, The Haunting, Papillion and so on...
