Dead are Alive was one of his worst distributed titles. It was hard enough to find when it actually was out. I remember looking for it when it was just released and could barely find a copy.

Agreed! Imagine if other distributors did that, there'd be no DVD/BD's on the market at all!

The dvd was available for a long time...really.
I remember telling people it was listed as oop on the CR site and to pick it up but everybody was like..."there's still plenty in shops".
Which was true for a relatively long time after the listing it seems,I was actually surprised when it eventually really did sell out.

Same goes for The Weekend Murders and the Christina Lindberg vs. Laura Gemser double btw.

So why does Bill moan when titles DO sell out after several months. Thats fine surely. Does he expect them to sell out in a month?.

As long as the amount of copies sell out it shouldn't matter how long it takes.

Especially when you release as many titles as CR had been doing, was it 40 over the last 12 months. Shameless release about 6 new titles in that time.

I'll still have to disagree there, B.

I'm not talking about Axel, Diabolik, Amazon Marketplace or any other import channel. I was living in the states when it was released and only just moved back when it was listed as OOP and while i was living there I found it hardly anywhere, online or instore. No wonder the sales were bad if it couldn't even penetrate the domestic market that well.

I decided to check and according to Amazon/Dvdaf The Dead are Alive was released in July 2010,I received mine in October 2010 (I remember it took me a while to purchase it and I finally ordered it in September from Axel),in March 2011 I reported the oop listing on the CR site and then it certainly took more than half a year before it was finally no longer available at webshops.

I can imagine it being hard to find in "brick and mortar stores" in the USA but I'm surprised you weren't able to find it online, didn't Amazon carry it?

I ordered Running Hot and The Dead Pit (2-disc).

The rest was not so much of interest except for what i already have. But for those who doesn't have Cut Throats-Nine (ignore Joshua) i definitely recommend it!
