Phantasm is 70% sold out 2 months after release. i don't think arrow are having any sleepless nights about slow sales.

it is true though that holding ones nerve and waiting to pick it up at a discount, in hindsight, would have been the sensible option.

c'est la vie, at least i'm not paying for mine as it is coming as a birthday prezzie

Mate (Phantasm nut) also received his in this fashion. He's happy enough ... and means I will get to see it at least. I understand totally about the furore about the cost though. Would only personally pay that amount if it had the words Coil or TG on it

About 10 years ago, I got the Anchor Bay 5 disc version (with the sphere packaging) for about £20

I'm not a big fan of the series, so that one does me fine

I found the book quite underwhelming. Sure, there's some nice pictures, but a lot of it I just skimmed through i.e. press releases, biographies et al. Nothing like the critical writing found within the Hellraiser book - which I thought was excellent.

I wouldn't bother with the U.S set. I'd wait for individual amray sets. A friend of mine got wellgo's set and it looks cheap as shit imo.

I have it and I think its a lot better than the Arrow set, which I'd say also looks cheap as shit. The only thing that lets the Wellgo set down is the cover for part 3 and the vortex amaray cases. Obviously the eventual individual Arrow releases will be better with the sturdier cases.

I thought the individual amrays looked a bit cheap and tatty. a lot of the packaging looke a little ugly TBH. Arrows not exactly thrilling either. Hence why I said wait for the amrays.

I'm with you on this, Susan.

The films are a total wasted opportunity. The idea of a flying silver sphere which drills into people's heads is horror gold. Why the hell do they barely exploit it?

I mean. By the third film there should be an army of sphere's attacking the nearest town and blood and guts galore. But no. We get the sort of thing you see in Subspecies and 100 other Full Moon features.
