I have a love/hate relationship with Arrow. On one hand it is true that they do put out some kick-ass releases, The Scarlet Box, Nekro, Deep Red, Videodrome, Hills, etc, etc, that just make me feel warm and fuzzy (McTiger) inside. On the other hand we have all the problems listed above and their seemingly indifference to fans (mostly) valid complaints. I feel like (Just my opinion...) they would prefer to move away from the horror/exploitation field as they would like to appear a more "serious label" and in doing so, cast derision on the very fanbase that has got them where they are today. Every now and again they toss us a bone to placate us but more and more they release films not aimed at their core audience. Perhaps it is the "working class dog" in me that growls but I feel the label has become snobbish and elitist and I foresee a time coming when the films we all love and spend our hard earned on will no longer come from them. Saying that though, if they announce a Phantasm boxset shortly I will be hailing them as the British Criterion label and saying how awesome they are.... Love and hate, it's a curious thing!!

Music Magpie have refunded my order for Hills Have Eyes. I emailed them yesterday asking for an update as the order had been showing as "processing" all week. They got back to me there assuring me that my order was dispatched in good time, and that it would appear the courier has lost it and that "it is only fair" that they refund me immediately. Seems I am having no luck with Arrow deliveries either. My Stray Cat Rock set still hasn't turned up. If this gets 'lost in the post' as Arrow will claim, like my first Female Prisoner Scorpion set did, I will be super pissed off, especially since I spent all my reward points on it! NOT IMPRESSED! |

the burning Someone asked arrow on facebook they replied saying they've been too busy shipping them out to send dispatch e-mails! but seems no one with arrow pre-order got it today, bit of a pisstake when other suppliers can send em out first.
