I mean. It's not like anyone would notice is it. It was 1976 after all. I doubt they anticipated they would be perused over on vhs, dvd and now Blu-ray by fans decades on, fans who pick up on every minute detail. Methods of viewing that were probably as much sci-fi as the Cybermen themselves at the time.
The first edition of 'The Making Of Doctor Who' book, by Terrance Dicks and Malcolm Hulke, was originally published in 1972, and the Doctor Who Exhibition at Longleat opened in April 1974, where it remained in situ until 2003 - almost 30 years

There was a huge fan basis for Doctor Who before 'Revenge Of The Cybermen' in 1975 and a lot of people would have remembered the symbol when it appeared in later stories

Not really sure what your point is.

Are you saying the symbol wasn't used a second time because it was still in the props store and was a genuine story device for a character who hadn't been thought of in Revenge of the Cybermen or simply arguing the fact that i said the production team wouldn't have thought twice about reusing a prop as nobody would have noticed.

I genuinely think a Doctor Who fan of the time would not have been any the wiser seeing as they had no recording equipment to rewatch the story. People remembered the monsters back then and the cliffhangers not what was used as set decor. Even if some geek thought it looked familiar they'd have had no way of proving it.

That's odd. What happened to my Image of the Day yesterday? I know i posted it. A pic of the Eye of Harmony from the tv movie.

Wonder if i clicked 'home' rather than 'submit'?

Edit - Looked at my history. Apparently i received a PM straight after adding the attachment so i bet i clicked on the message without submitting the post.
